Breath for Well-being

This two hour workshop is a perfect antidote to stressful urban life. We will use soft movement to unwind and release tension, and a variety of breathing techniques to lure the breath back into the body. You will come away with a good understanding of your breath holding pattern, the areas where you shallow breathe and hold tension. When we are able to use diaphragmatic breath to support us in our daily activities, there is less strain and resistance that we experience and more energy that is freed up to enjoy life.
Breath as a therapeutic tool can be helpful in resolving tension headaches, reducing high blood pressure, helping IBS. A regular practice can help with anxiety and depression.
This workshop is open to all - if you breathe, you can come! Please wear loose clothes.

Therapeutic yoga series

I have been teaching yoga for 15 years, originally training in the Iyengar tradition. I have since expanded my practice of yoga beyond the form of the physical body to incorporate more subtle energetic aspects such as prana (qi). I have trained with Donna Farhi, studied somatic movement and Ayurveda, and am an NLP Master Practitioner. More recently I have been studying Qi Gong with Master Zhixing Wang.

I teach one to one classes from my home studio in central London near Baker Street and small group classes in London, Kent and abroad, focusing on therapeutic aspects of yoga. For more info go to: Http://www.luizakirk.com
