Nurturing Spring Retreat 29 - 31 March 2019

The atmosphere at Stanton is magical. Exquisite countryside and a house that exudes care and welcomes you on retreat. Home-cooked food and Joanne’s thoughtful, real and at times irreverent guidance. The company of like-minds, with time for solitude too.

Our theme on this special weekend is nourishing the nurturer in each of us. We all having nurturing instincts and roles – caring, growing, guiding and protecting families, friendships, projects, and people. Falling on Mothers’ Day weekend, we will take time to give back to ourselves and to each other – drawing on the deep well of yin yoga wisdom to rest body and soul on this nourishing retreat.
Joanne will be sharing skills for emotional and physical resilience, alongside experiential sessions in restorative and yin yoga, walks in the Cotswolds countryside, deep relaxation, Reiki treatments and time to just rest.

Whether you want to gain insight, to make change, or simply to get away, our light-hearted powerful processes and incisive coaching will create the conditions for you to rest and find some ease with the questions you’re currently living.

We arrive for 6pm on the Friday and depart by 3pm on the Sunday.

Joanne Sumner Wellbeing

My name is Joanne Sumner and I am a trained therapist, practitioner, coach and trainer in Yoga, Reiki, Meditation and Flower Essences healing.

I use a serene approach to bring purpose, passion and peace to my clients and students making the journey. My teachings use learning, creativity and movement in a special way that is insightful to all. Offering group classes and one to ones, practising yoga has changed my health and my mind. So much so, that I trained to become a teacher in order to offer the benefits of yoga to others. In particular, I wanted to offer yoga classes in Ealing, West London, because I live here and I wanted to do something that I felt would contribute to my local community.

Yoga is a beautiful and ancient tradition that will help you feel whole. To experience yourself as one happy, healthy, human being at peace with your life and in the world. It is a holistic approach, treating each individual as unique and precious.

Along the way, yoga will help you to:
reduce pain, tension and stiffness in your muscles; regain flexibility; build strength; recover from injury; manage stress; avoid burnout; become calmer and more emotionally resilient;
feel more adaptable; and personally, I find yoga gives me energy and helps me think!

The practice of yoga includes physical postures, breathing control, and relaxation and meditation techniques to bring peace and calm to the body and mind. We work with Sun Salutations, Moon Salutations, and other flowing sequences from time to time, and also with both yin yoga and restorative yoga. So the class is a blend of classical hatha yoga practice and emerging practice – to bring you a sense of deep well-being.
