I started practising Ashtanga Yoga at ‘On the Mat’ with Celeste Lau in 2000 when I lived in Singapore.
I carried on practising on my return to the UK and trained as a yoga teacher with Jane Piddington (Ashtanga Yoga Glastonbury Teacher Training 200 hour Diploma course, accredited by Yoga Alliance UK). I have also completed an 80 hour Yoga Alliance accredited Pregnancy Yoga Teacher Training course with Bristol City Yoga having worked previously as both an NCT antenatal teacher and doula.
I am now teaching classes In Person in local village halls, and online using Zoom. I have been delighted by the demand for yoga locally and it is so wonderful to see how much difference people can feel by starting to practise yoga, even once a week. My clients have a wide age range and my classes have to reflect that, so they include elements of the Ashtanga primary series used in vinyasa krama, exploring asanas in different ways each week.
