Yin Yoga - A 6 week course

Too busy rushing, striving, achieving ...? Schedule a mid-week retreat.
Re-balance in a soft, slow, calming, deliciously inward Yin Yoga Practice.
Yin Yoga has become popular amongst athletes. Western medicine is beginning to embrace the importance of fascia and connective tissue to health and wellbeing. 'The issues are in the tissues'.

Yin yoga targets the deep connective tissues, bones, joints, fascia and ligaments in the body by staying in specific yoga poses for longer periods; typically up to a few minutes. Recent scientific knowledge can now explain why working our fascial system and deep tissues, leads to less dense and tight bodies, as we age. Lengthening extremely tight tissues can be a very uncomfortable practice, but using this time to focus on breathing is a large part of Yin Yoga.

When pain or discomfort is experienced, our bodies naturally become tense and we use our fight or flight response. Yin Yoga teaches us to re-route the mind and slow the heart rate when we experience discomfort. Eventually the mind will remain relaxed throughout your entire practice: you will be able to release tension and more easily stretch the muscles and tissues.

Typical benefits of yin:

Targets connective tissues including fascia, bones and joints
Reduces stress
Increases circulation
Balances internal organs and improves flow of prana
Balances our yang or physical yoga practice
Relieves tension
Improves flexibility
Encourages mindfulness and meditation
This is a 6 week course where a new 'meridian'; or energy pathway, pair, will be targeted and explored each week. Re-leasing any 'energy blocks' and taking you towards a place of optimal health and inner-peace 💕🙏

Rachel is an accredited 200hr Yoga Alliance teacher having trained with Yoga London. Rachel’s decision to become a teacher of yoga followed from experiencing the benefits that a regular practice brought to both body and mind. On discovering Vinyasa flow yoga and yoga's ability to heal a compulsion was felt to bring and share it’s joys with the Market Harborough community. Still and forever a student Rachel continually develops her knowledge of yoga. More recently Rachele has completed advanced teacher trainings in Rocket Yoga, and specialised trainings in Wellwoman/WombYoga/Pregnancy yoga with the lovely guru Uma Dinsmore Tulli. She is studying Yin Yoga with Norman Blair in 2017. By regularly experimenting with other styles Rachele hopes that the balance, calm and clarity that yoga brings can be accessed by all.
