A blend of Astanga ("power") yoga & the more relaxing elements of Hatha yoga. This class can help improve posture & flexibility, strengthen & tone the body, as well as soothe the mind. A mixed ability class, in which I offer options & modifications whenever possible & use blocks & belts as needed. This class is also streamed live via Zoom, for those that wish to take part from home.

Through my work as a Fitness Trainer, I had dabbled in yoga, but after breaking my ankle in 2011, yoga became a key part of my physical rehab & I also started to appreciate the power of yoga to restore balance & harmony in life in general. In 2012, with this in mind for both myself & my clients, I travelled to India to train to teach yoga with the Himalaya Yoga Valley Centre. With the wonderful team out there, I learned to teach Ashtanga & Hatha Yoga, with Iyengar Alignment (200hrs), including meditation & chanting. While still in India, I quit my Fitness Manager role & have been freelancing ever since. I furthered my learning with Calm for Kids, which led me to teach young teens in schools & I also trained with Gentle Years Yoga to teach Chair Yoga to seniors. During the pandemic I worked hard to improve on my non-existent tech & digital media skills & managed to deliver most of my regular classes online. These were very well received by my class participants & I was touched & humbled by their support & enthusiasm. I have recently relaunched in-person classes which most are pleased to get back to & I continue to teach a couple of weekly classes via Zoom, for those that like the option to roll out the yoga mat at home.
