Gentle Hatha Slow Flow

Gentle Hatha Yoga classes are at a slower pace and the poses are less intense. We focus on correct alignment for safety and stability, and adapt and modify the poses to make them accessible to each individual body. There is a strong emphasis on stretching and low impact movements, and meditation, breathwork and relaxation are included in a well rounded class leaving you feeling energised, calm and relaxed in your body, mind and soul.

Gentle Hatha classes are suitable for beginners and ‘yoga returners’ who may not have practiced yoga for some time. Friendly classes recognising we are all unique, and we don't take ourselves too seriously.

Classes are £12 if booked by the block of usually 4-6 weeks or £14.50 on a drop-in basis. All classes must be booked. Contact barbara@yogainlife.co.uk to book.

Yoga in Life

Hello! I’m Barbara, and I'm a British Wheel of Yoga trained yoga teacher teaching yoga in Sawbridgeworth, High Wych and Old Harlow.

I teach Gentle Hatha Yoga Flow to beginners, active agers and mindful movers; and Chair Yoga to seniors and anyone managing pain or weakness. I also enjoy drawing on different styles of yoga including, Hatha, Yin, Flow, Functional and Restorative styles of yoga to provide a fully rounded experience to benefit the whole body, mind and soul in my Yoga Fusion classes. Sangha (community) is important to me and we enjoy Yoga in Life community walks and every Chair Yoga class includes time for a hot drink and chat. I also teach 1-1s where we can focus on a particular area of the body, or aspect of yoga - perhaps breathing or relaxation, or even building confidence to join a class.

Yoga is for everyone and I help men and women, seasoned yogis and those new to yoga, to an awareness of their own range of movement and help them to find their own expression of a pose. I teach techniques to improve breathing and how to focus the mind to reduce stress. I lead my students to relaxation to soothe the body and mind. We work mindfully to notice sensations in our bodies and to keep the mind focussed on the moment. My yoga classes are friendly and welcoming. Everybody is unique.
