The Yoga Studio offers a range of general yoga classes and yoga therapy and homœopathy for medical and non medical conditions . We specialise in yoga for diabetes, high blood pressure, low back pain and pregnancy. Alistair, the principal tutor trained at the Yoga Biomemedical Trust and is a member NHS Register of Complemantary and Alternative Therapists. Other tuturs include Dr. Emmet Devlin, Csilla Toldy and Eddie Kelly. The studio has an ongoing programme of workshops and seminars , often with Internationally renowned tutors and runs a Heuristic Yoga Practitioner training. All courses are now offered in modular format and can be used as CPD credits

Sometimes the label of a beginners class is often off putting as we always think thatwe are better than just a 'beginner'. It is important to be aware of having a safe Yoga practice and to gradually progress. Yoga is not easy, often it is hard to begin and see how rigid our body and mind really are.
This is where the real work of Yoga begins by bringing our mind, body and spirit into union.
These classes are now offered in 6 week blocks to encourage students who are new to yoga to progress through basic asana (postures) and pranayama (breathing) practices. The class consists of a warm up, standing postures, floor postures, inversions and 10-15 minutes relaxation. The aim of the class is to be energised, yet relaxed and calm as you walk away from the class.

This programme consists of once or twice weekly attendance at the studio for around 90 mins, for at least six weeks.
At each session participants will be taken through a programme of gentle physical yoga and breathing practices together with a relaxation practice, especially designed to assist in lowering blood pressure.
Participants will be encouraged to practice what they have learned for around 10-20 mins each day and to keep a diary, documenting results.
No attempt will be made to modify patients' medication – this is entirely the role of the General Practitioner or Practice nurse.
